General Care
How to properly clean solid brass
· For light grease or fingerprints, water on the cloth is sufficient. Rinse the cloth and wipe again to remove any residue.
· Dry immediately after wiping. Do not leave moisture sitting on the surface.
What to avoid when cleaning solid brass
· Bleach-based or ammonia-based cleaning products.
· Brass polish, metal polish, or any product designed to clean or restore bare metal - these are formulated to remove surface layers and will strip the lacquer entirely.
· Prolonged exposure to standing water, steam, or harsh cleaning sprays (especially relevant in bathrooms and kitchens).
· Spray cleaners applied directly onto the hardware - always apply to a cloth first.
